The drills i have been looking at are the sunflower, great plains and John Deere,i picked these companys because the are the makers of 10' and 12' drills. At 2 bpa he had last year then he would have to run 60,000 acres through the combine to cut the same bushels. These spoiled farmers think they only should have to drive 10 miles for parts. They sell for next to nothing and with a fair bit of labour and some good money you'd have one heck of a combine that'll last a fair few hours. One only has to look at the number of machines run down assembly lines with parts missing and go back later to repair/replace. learned a few things from that site too. Here is a fact, Gleaner is the best selling combine AGCO has in North America. If you had a 60 or newer combine and you had the faceplate tilt rolled all the back to get you sickle attitude correct, the first thing I then would is get a wedge the get the faceplate back into range so you have some adjustment. I like my 9600 and it works well for me but is going to need many higher dollar repairs to run next year. It's hard to explain but the Deere just does it easier and it's pretty easy to set in it all day long. Does it really matter to a farmer if their combine gives them 1% dockage or 2% dockage. This faceplate adjustment isn't something new. about 15k for the update bypasses the challenger electronics and valves basicaly. At 10 bpa he would be having to put 12,000 acres through the combine to equal a farmer with 1,000 acres at 120 bpa. Jul 1, 2015 · 9400 is great combine but 359 is a money pit-we bought a 91' model with around 100 hrs. A good Gleaner dealer in town would changes things. Reply reply Jun 8, 2024 · The MF combine is a good machine, especially the class 6, no major issues, good clean sample, decent capacityParts availability on the class 6 should be very good for a long time yet, as the class 6 saw WAY fewer changes than the Class 7 and 8 machines over the years, so lots of commonality. Air filter will be dusty but I think they could run 2-3 years before it really needed cleaning. I'm in the same situation wondering what to buy for a corn head. Either my uncle not me have ever been around a 9000 series combine. I couldn't imagine if we had 42" tires. Show Less Jul 17, 2024 · No one south of me and Terry implement brookfield, and edina are 70 to 100 miles one way. agco has an update now that is a control box that wires into 4 remotes modules much cheaper and uses factory screen and wiring. I don't think I would want to rely on just one combine to do 3000plus unless it was a Deere. I upgraded to a 7240 with an 8 row head and this year I put a 12 row head on the 7240. As they get older some complain the auto adjusting deck plates start sticking which would be a big problem. For so many years I ran an 860 Massey and could get the sample spotless. In its 6th year, a set screw got lose on the top return elevator and the key slipped out. At this rate the combine has no more capacity and so a 12 row would just slow things down as the combine would always be full in the wrong place and possible be waiting.
